Role Overview
We are seeking a proactive, organised and commercially minded Compliance Officer to support the continued development of Zuno’s governance, compliance and control environment.
Reporting to the Senior Risk & Compliance Manager, the successful candidate will play a key role in supporting regulatory compliance, governance oversight and second-line monitoring activity across the business. The role will work closely with operational, sales, customer service and leadership teams to help ensure regulatory obligations, internal controls and governance expectations are effectively understood, implemented and maintained.
The role will support the ongoing maturity of the organisation’s compliance framework, helping to strengthen first line accountability, improve oversight activity and contribute to a proactive and sustainable compliance culture.
Compliance & Regulatory Oversight
Support the delivery and ongoing enhancement of the organisation’s compliance framework and governance arrangements.
Provide day-to-day compliance guidance and support to operational and leadership teams.
Assist with interpretation and application of FCA regulatory requirements relevant to the business, including Consumer Duty, financial promotions, complaints handling and fair customer outcomes performed as a Credit Broker and/or Appointed Representative.
Support implementation and ongoing review of policies, procedures and compliance controls.
Help ensure regulatory obligations and internal standards are embedded into operational processes.
Monitoring, Controls & Assurance
Conduct compliance monitoring and second-line oversight activity across operational areas.
Assist in the development and maintenance of monitoring plans, control testing and assurance reviews.
Support identification of control weaknesses, process gaps and areas for improvement.
Track remedial actions and support follow-up activities to ensure issues are appropriately resolved.
Assist with trend analysis, management information and reporting to support governance oversight and decision making.
Partnership & Third-Party Governance
Support oversight of regulated and operational activities and act as a key point of contact for compliance-related engagement with strategic partners and third parties.
Assist with the preparation and maintenance of governance dashboards, action logs and management information for partner reporting.
Monitor escalations, incidents, complaints and conduct risks associated with regulated activities.
Support implementation and oversight of procedures, regulatory requirements and agreed operational standards across all business units.
Customer Outcomes & Conduct Oversight
Support the ongoing embedding of Consumer Duty principles across operational processes and customer journeys to deliver good outcomes in line with Regulatory expectations.
Assist with quality assurance activity, customer journey reviews and thematic monitoring exercises.
Support oversight of vulnerable customer processes, escalations and customer support arrangements.
Support investigations relating to potential mis-selling, customer detriment or regulatory breaches.
Stakeholder & Operational Support
Build effective working relationships across all business units and with teams across Operations, Sales, Customer Service, HR, Business Intelligence, Legal and external partners.
Provide practical compliance support and guidance to operational teams to help strengthen first line ownership and accountability.
Assist with delivery of compliance training, awareness activity and onboarding support.
Support operational teams with interpretation and implementation of regulatory or policy changes.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across governance, controls, processes and reporting.
Skills & Experience Required
Experience within a compliance, risk, governance or regulatory oversight role.
Good understanding of FCA requirements: Consumer Duty, Fin Proms. GDPR and conduct risk principles.
Experience supporting monitoring, assurance, QA or control testing activity.
Ability to analyse data, identify trends and support risk-based decision making.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
Confident communicator with the ability to influence and challenge constructively.
Consumer finance, regulated sales or financial services environments experience would be advantageous.
Understanding of appointed representative and/or credit broker regulatory models would be beneficial.
